“We started How to Eat as a cooking and recipe blog way back in 2012. As dietitians working in clinical roles at a hospital, we used the blog as a creative outlet to connect with Canadians about…delicious food! In the 7 years since, we’ve created over 400 recipes and have turned How to Eat into a food and nutrition communications brand. A huge part of our success has come from having cheerleaders in Canada’s food system. Farmers, producers, scientists and food educators have stepped up to teach us how safe, affordable and abundant our food supply is. Now, in addition to being recipe writers, we’ve channeled our ‘teachers’ and have become passionate advocates for Canadian agriculture.”⁣ 📷: #CdnFoodFocus contributor @how_to_eat Follow their profile for more #CdnFoodStories 🌱🌱🌱⁣ ⁣ #EverythingGrows #CdnFoodFocus #CdnFarmStory #CdnFoodStory

“Every time we have the opportunity to champion a Canadian grower or producer, we feel grateful that they’ve trusted our voices. We are two women without any meaningful food system education or previous experience in agriculture, yet farmers have opened their gates, their arms and their lives to us time and time again. To date, we’ve been lucky enough to see the inner workings of grain and seed farms, poultry farms, cattle ranches, biotechnology facilities, orchards, greenhouses, an apiary, a bison ranch, an egg sorting facility and multiple dairies (big and small), just to name a few. Canadian farmers are proud of what they do and they want nothing more than for Canadians to trust in the high quality food they produce every single day. HECK YES we’re going to be their cheerleaders!”⁣ 📷: #CdnFoodFocus contributor @how_to_eat Follow their profile for more #CdnFoodStories 🌱🌱🌱⁣ ⁣ #EverythingGrows #CdnFoodFocus #CdnFarmStory #CdnFoodStory

“As dietitians, we’re often ‘the face’ of food. People come to us with questions that range from nutrition, to cooking, to agriculture, to marketing, to diets. It is our responsibility and mandate to provide solid, evidence-based information to the best of our ability. As Canadians become more and more interested in truth and transparency when it comes to food and agriculture, we want to be able to answer their questions in a straightforward way. We want champion innovation and technology, dispel misinformation, bust myths, and take the fear out of food. #FactsNotFear is one of our favourite hashtags!” ⁣ 📷: #CdnFoodFocus contributor @how_to_eat Follow their profile for more #CdnFoodStories 🌱🌱🌱⁣ ⁣ #EverythingGrows #CdnFoodFocus #CdnFarmStory #CdnFoodStory

“We are living in the golden age of food. Most Canadians can get their hands on any food they dream up within a matter of hours. We are truly spoiled for choice and the privileged few, on a global scale, who can afford to scrutinize our food supply the way we do. We just want people to recognize that privilege. We want Canadians to sit back and ENJOY their food to the fullest. We want them to trust in the amazing people who are growing and producing it. We want them to gain a little more confidence in cooking. We want them to eat with their family and friends more often. But most of all, we just want everyone to RELAX about food.” ⁣ 📷: #CdnFoodFocus contributor @how_to_eat Follow their profile for more #CdnFoodStories ⁣ 🌱🌱🌱⁣ #EverythingGrows #CdnFoodFocus #CdnFarmStory #CdnFoodStory
