Whisk together butter, brown sugar, and salt. Stir in vanilla, eggs, and maple syrup until just combined, being careful not to overmix. Chill mixture in the fridge for 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Place prepared tart shells on a baking tray. If using raisins, and/or nuts add to the bottom of the crusts. Stir the filling and spoon it to fill the shells three-quarters full.
Bake for 25–30 minutes until filling is set. Cool slightly in a pan on a rack. Remove while still warm. Tarts should firm up in a few hours.
