Supercharge your salsa with flax and enjoy this quick and easy recipe!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup your favourite salsa
  • 1/2 cup light (5% fat) sour cream
  • 1 Tbsp mashed chipotle pepper in adobe sauce*
  • 2 Tbsp ground flaxseed
Imperial – Metric

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine salsa, sour cream and roasted pepper. Blend until smooth.
  • Transfer to serving bowl and stir in the ground flaxseed. Serve with assorted chips, crackers or fresh vegetables.
    Yield: 1 cup (250 mL)

Notes

*Add more or less chipotle pepper to adjust how hot you would like the salsa.
Serving Size: 1/4 cup (60 mL). Each serving contains 1 tsp (5 mL) of flax.
