Have you ever taken a fresh pea pod, opened it up and taken the peas out? You’re effectively harvesting the peas, which really isn’t that dissimilar from a combine harvester, just on a different scale. There are a lot of moving parts in a combine, with new technology being developed each year. A big advancement in equipment development has been sensor technology, which ensures we can monitor many different aspects of the combine and the crop we’re harvesting. When harvest season is upon us, we have a limited window of time to get the crop off the land and put it in storage. This is why our family works long days during the fall!
